Celebration of The Independence Day of Greece

Celebration of The Independence Day of Greece

On the 25th of March 1821, Greece (Hellas) gained its independence from the Turkish/Ottomans. Greek Mythology, Philosophy, Drama, Poetry, Architecture, and Democracy (5th century BC) were invented in Greece. The Greek language is the basis of many European languages and the Sciences' and Law's vocabulary. You may also know some famous Greek people such as Plato, Aristotles, Socrates, Aeschylus, Sofocles, Euripidis, Themistocles, Pericles, Miltiades, and Alexander the Great.

"Zito Ellada" (long live Greece) to our Greek staff members, students, and parents who celebrated Greece's Independence day! Our thoughts travel to this beautiful country that has given not just the name but much more to our European continent!

Below you can find an impression of ESH celebrating Greece's independence day; there were some lovely Greek treats in the staff room and students and staff learned the basics of Greek dancing in the Library.
