Social and emotional development

Each secondary class has a Mentor who is the first point of contact for students, parents and teachers. The mentor lessons in each cycle focus on age-appropriate topics and themes in order to support our students socially, academically and emotionally.

In the Observation Cycle, Mentors follow social-emotional programme, Leefstijl, in all of the language sections. The programme explores age appropriate topics for each year group, such as communication, making difficult decisions, healthy life choices, and society and you. Sexual education is delivered in collaboration with the Integrated Science lessons. In S3, engaging workshops are run by external educational providers to inform students on topics such as addictions, social media awareness, and anti-bullying.

Observation Cycle Leaders

Cycle Leaders are responsible for overseeing the activities in each Cycle. Any questions that cannot be answered by the student's Mentor or subject teachers, should be directed to the Cycle Leader.
