Parent Involvement
Like all successful schools, ESH is dependent on our collaboration with parents. As partners in education, parents can get involved in many ways and we are very proud of our involved and supportive ESH parents.
Besides participation in formal consultative bodies - like the Participation Council - parents are also invited to help supervise on excursions or field trips, help with celebrations, join other committees including the PTA, focus groups, the Canteen Committee, and/or get involved in other school activities that the school organises.
Joint Parent Information Sessions
We often seek enthusiastic parent volunteers who are interested in giving presentations/workshops to the school community. We welcome parents who are experts in specific areas and/or would be willing to lead a workshop. By contributing their knowledge or facilitating a session, parents help us strengthen and build our community, creating opportunities for parents to support one another and stay informed.
Informal Coffee Mornings / Parent & Staff Evenings
Together with the school, the PTA organises regular European Coffee Mornings to enhance the community spirit and facilitate multicultural socialising. If you're new to The Hague, they're a great way to build your community and interact with other internationals in the city.
In addition, ESH Primary also offers Parent & Staff mixers (organised in the evenings) as another opportunity for parents and staff to come together in an informal and relaxed setting.
Primary Participation Council (PPC)
The PPC is an elected body of staff and parent representatives. The PC is consulted by the school management on various matters concerning school policies, organisaiton, and official matters.
Primary PTA
The PTA is responsible for adding a positive social element to school through our school functions, events, and fundraisers. In addition to the Coffee Morning, they also help organise the annual Winter and International Markets, Spring Treasure Hunt, and generally help out with anything at school - including re-decorating the parent cafe or gardening!
