About the Role

As a Teacher of Biology, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons to students aged 14-18, following the European Baccalaureate curriculum.
  • Teach in Dutch to native speakers.
  • Plan and deliver safe lessons involving lab experiments.
  • Encourage creative thinking and skill development through a variety of teaching methods.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where every student’s talent is nurtured.
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate educators to support a thriving science program.

    • The salary is a minimum €3463 and a maximum of €5277 on scale LB, the step offered will depend on your level of experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology (First-degree/Eerste graads) and full teaching qualification for Secondary Education (recognised by the Dutch Education Authorities DUO).
  • Experience and qualified to teach Biology to students aged 14-18, ideally in international or intercultural settings.
  • Experienced teaching in Dutch, with a strong command of the Dutch language (C2 level or above).
  • Ability to communicate in English with colleagues and parents.
  • Experience teaching Integrated Science to students aged 11-14 is desirable.
  • Ability to teach in English is desirable, but not essential.
  •  A creative, inclusive approach to teaching and a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
  • The ability to speak other European languages is desirable, but not essential.
